WHERE WE COME FROM:
“60 Seconds” is Anthony Bosque, Sarah Mason, and Nick Catt. We almost exclusively play vinyl from our respective collections when on the air which, otherwise, is most likely what we would be doing if we were at home or together in a garage. There is no need to attribute specific genre affiliations to the music we play or to any of us personally. We do though often claim "punk" when it comes down to questions of identity even when no one is asking. What does this mean? Defining the word here will be of little help; "punk" as such is a disposition—a way of negotiating our place in this world, especially when it fails us. Identifying as punk assumes an intimate relationship with music: we create our own soundtrack and, as a result, make life worth living. Music will always be there waiting for us when we lose our way, at times demanding we change direction. Regardless whether creating or enjoying it, music insists upon an economy of affect and expression that cannot be corrupted. “60 Seconds” is a collective way for each and all of us to share bits and pieces from our own personal soundtracks with anyone willing to listen—such as you for instance. As an exercise “60 Seconds” reinforces a commitment to music and, thus, a life worth living. Thank you for listening. "Up the punks!" —Nick
